sshfs -o allow_other,noatime,ServerAliveInterval=15,ServerAliveCountMax=10 <ip>:/ /some/mount/point

allow_other will other users access the mountpoint
noatime will prevent that linux issues a disk-write on every file access to track the access time.
ServerAliveInterval=15 will prevent timeouts
ServerAliveCountMax=10 will up the default of "hey are you still alive?" messages from 3 to 10.

You can also put these options in /etc/ssh/ssh_config

ServerAliveInterval 15
ServerAliveCountMax 10
